I appreciate Japan,
But I do not like bugs!

This critter here is known as the Japanese Beetle (AKA Scarab Beetle)
This species is native to Japan.
I read that they can eat up your garden.
So they must be disliked a lot in Japan.

Today's animal of the day is the
Japanese Macaque Monkey.
 This monkey is the only primate that lives in Japan, and can be found in Honshu.

It's pretty fur might be what keeps it so warm, through all that winter terrain.

And they also stay in a hot springs.
I'll post some information about Honshu.

Japanese Raccoon Dog

Also known as Tanuki,
This mischievous little guy is native to Japan.
I'm also just now finding out that this species can be taken home as a pet.
I want one.
But if these things act like the real thing (Raccoon)
Then I don't.

This little guy here is a bird known as the Amami Thrush.
It is native to the islands of Amami Oshima and Kakeroma island, located north of Nansei Islands of Japan.
